How our apps handle your data.

Each app has its own policy below, describing exactly what that app does. This page covers who we are and the things that are true of all of them.

Who is responsible

Codonic is an independent software studio, and is the party responsible for the apps listed on this site and for this policy. Questions about either go to the address below and are answered directly.

What is true of every app we make

  • What you make is yours. The content you create in an app is stored for you and for your own use, and is deleted when you delete it or remove the app. Each app’s policy says where that content is kept.
  • Each policy describes what its app actually does. Where an app uses the network, its own policy says what it sends and to whom. If an app’s behaviour changes in a future version, its policy is updated to match before that version ships.
  • We do not sell personal information.

Device backups

Your device’s own backup system — Apple’s on Apple devices, Google’s on Android — may include an app’s data, under the backup mechanism and encryption those companies provide. That relationship is between you and them, and is governed by their privacy policies rather than this one.

If you email us

When you write to us, we have your email address and whatever you wrote, and we use it only to answer you. We keep support correspondence for as long as it is useful for follow-up questions and no longer than three years. We do not add you to a mailing list and we do not pass your message to anyone. Ask us to delete it and we will.

Children

Our apps are not directed at children, and they collect no data from anyone, of any age.

Your rights

Under the GDPR (EEA and UK) you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict and object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to complain to your national data protection authority. Under the CCPA and CPRA, California residents have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.

In practice there is almost nothing to exercise these rights against: the only personal data we could ever hold is an email you sent us. Write to dev@codonic.dev and we will act on any such request, free of charge, within 30 days. There is no “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link on this site because there is nothing to opt out of.

This website

codonic.dev is currently a set of static files. It sets no cookies and has no forms — which is why there is no cookie banner.

The site is served by Cloudflare, which acts as the hosting provider. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes what is needed to deliver a page — your IP address, the URL requested, your browser’s user agent and the time — for network security and delivery. We receive no analytics from this and make no attempt to identify visitors.

Software downloaded directly

Some apps are distributed as a direct download rather than through a store — a notarized disk image for macOS, an installer for Windows. Downloading a file from this site is an ordinary web request, handled as described above. Those builds behave exactly like their store counterparts, and each app’s own policy describes what they do.

Changes

If a policy changes, the new version is posted at the same address with a new date. App policy URLs are permanent — once an app is published, its policy address does not move.
